Stage6 Variator R/T Oversize Set (Aprilia, Piaggio, Vespa 50)

Description: Stage6 Variator R/T Oversize Set for Aprilia, Piaggio 50, Vespa 2-stroke engines. The oversize Vario from Stage6 - the optimal complement to the Stage6 oversize torque driver. Bigger CVT systems are becoming essential parts for race and midrace engines, extending the whole range of transmission. The Stage6 R/T variator has revised roller curves that have been optimized for usage with R/T engines and accommodate weights in a size of 19 x 15.5mm. The result is a very homogenous rev characteristic that affects the complete acceleration phase. The precise surface angles have been achieved using CNC technology and the surface has been treated with a ceramic conversion coating, which prolongs the surface structure and roughness. Shot-peening, as it is done with pure aluminum pulleys, is therefore not necessary - it only becomes necessary when the coating shows noticeable signs of wear. The center area of the ramp plate has been reinforced and the sintered guide piece offers optimal lubricating properties. Also included in the delivery are the outer half of the pulley with fan and a set of weights and the fitting Stage6 R/T torque spring. Special fitting tools are also available from Stage6.

Installation: Make sure variator drive face is seated properly and not get its teeth chewed by the Bendix: 1. Slack the belt by opening the CVT clutch gives belt slack to the variator side. 2. Then install the variator drive face while lifting the slack belt further away from the center boss if done properly should not see any splines between variator drive face slop-side and boss flat-side. Should be flushed together. 3. Then install the existing variator fan, washer, and hand-tight nut. 4. Finally, apply blue Loctite, torque nut to 30-35ft-lbs. For reassurance please consult your manufacturer's variator torque specs.
